BemerkungenI had just entered my vehicle parked on the road (Masters Drive as indictated on the map). I started my car and looked up at the sky in front of my where I observed the fireball appear suddenly. It was bright orange with a glittery glowing train. It was much wider than a star. I observed the fireball from start to finish which lasted approximately 3 seconds. It appeared west and traveled that direction (away from me). It looked like it was perfectly vertical to the earth's horizon. I knew there was a meteor "storm" projected to occur around midnight, so thought this may be a fragment from that. Although there were a couple of meteors that passed by after midnight, they appeared in a different location (near the constellation Hercules), and they were the same size, brightness, and color (white) of a star. I hope this information is helpful.
