BemerkungenTo clarify I was driving down the I-405 North freeway in West Los Angeles, near the Culver Blvd exit. It's been raining in Southern California lately so the air is really fresh and the skies are clear right now. I had to really look up at an almost straight up angle (but to the right) to see this fireball, which lasted only a couple of seconds. I wasn't sure what it was as I had seen shooting stars before driving to Las Vegas and they look very different, almost delicate. This was very bright. Extremely bright orange tail at the end. Almost red. The ball itself appeared pale yellow or white. Also I would describe shooting stars as almost gliding ( or falling) across the sky. This felt heavier and was shooting downward with such force.

BemerkungenI don't believe I saw a flash. But it appeared to fizz away almost like a firecracker would.
